good Intake ?

I'm looking for an intake for my 360.

This engine is a crate (fairly stock) engine.

I would like something that will mount newer carbs (if I have an older style carb I could use the intake I have)

This is not a racing setup, and I am looking to keep the budget reasonable.

The EDE Performer ...if I were you. Because you save some weight...and the Intake can be used for square and spread bore carbs.... ( TQ / Q Jet )...

The spread/Square is one of the issues I am facing.

just never been a fan of adapter plates.

how s the performance vs a stock intake?

Edelbrock Air Gap RPM intake. Pretty much outperforms everything unless you go to full single plane race style intakes. I've got one on the 340 in my Duster, works great. I drive it year round as well, it does take a little longer to get warmed up in the winter but not bad. Yes, I know, I live in California, but I also commute early in the morning and it's not unusual to have to scrape ice off my windshield before I go during the winter months.

Even the stock intake works great or the M1 dual plane alum whick is basically the stock intake in alum  . The LD340 is great too if you can find one , RPM or RPM Air Gar are great too

Never heard anything good about the Performer

I give the nod to the air gap intakes. With today's fuel blends any and all separation you can get to limit heat transfer to the carb will help to prevent fuel from boiling.

The Eddy Air Gap RPM actually has the same carb pad height as the regular RPM manifold, 5.35". So if an RPM clears so will the Air Gap. It's also only .05" taller than an LD340, and the same height as stock 340 manifold.

That list is great ! Also now we can see..that almost all aftermarket intakes  have smaller ports than the OEM intakes.....  so porting the aftermarket intake should be  nessecary...I think.
