The Holley SD is the best bet , it is taller then stock but far closer to stock height & will be more workable .
 The Mopar Dual plane is decent too but is really just a stock intake cast in Alum .

If you got the $$, go for an aftermarket, EFI w/throttle body that's way short.

I would not use CME if you want something decent. It is very easy these days to stroke anything and make decent power. "Decent meaning upwards of 1hp/inch, on engines that are 450-500".  Including using stock parts like an intake and exhaust manifolds. So if that's what you want, find a builder that can do that for you. The price of $8K is close. The last 496 I did was $8500 with me supplying the core. An RB version quoted just after that was $9500 with aluminum heads and some dyno using stock exhaust manifolds.
On the intake - it is not rocket science to modify the shaker base to fit. You can buy a repro base, and have it modified to place the sealing flange where you need it with most manifolds that are slightly taller. Or run the factory intake. You will give up power, but something making 540 pound feet of torque will probably make you forget about the 20hp the intake is costing.

Moper,I decided to go with a local machine shop.  I'm supplying all the parts and they're doing the short block assembly.  So far their prices are very fair.    Let's hope it stays that way.

Accufab has the shortest T body I could find , 1200 cfm & 1/2 the height of a typical carb at just over 3 "tall

That's my thought as well...Why build some high HP motor only to have stock type parts.....if you're going to build a motor...BUILD a motor !

That is why I have almost 15000 in a small block!  LOL

I don't see how that can happen.

I've spoken to Ben numerous times.
He has vendors in Taiwan making parts for him. In fact he goes there from time to time.

You're much better served just buying a stock one and modifying it once the engine is in your car with your hood. Those are the ones I've done before. It's just metal fabrication work - like body steel. No big deal.
