The black R/T style are smooth, but the regular dark argent ones should have a pronounced texture. BTW, the texture is not in the base aluminum; it is applied. For example, if you put paint stripper on your textured grill, you could get it down to smooth, shiny aluminum. That being said, I don't know of a product that can duplicate such a rough texture. The textured spray paint you can get at O'Reilly's won't do the job.
