Wiper harness difference in wires???
« on: April 05, 2016 - 11:31:39 AM »
Hey guys HP_Cuda noticed that there may be a difference in the wire harness colors for wiper motors.

He said:"You should have two pigtails coming off your harness (1 - goes to your resistor (brown wires) 2 - the Blue/Green/Red plug should go to the plug end of the motor.) It looks like you are jumping wires from one side of your resistor to the other? Anyway, sorry for noting it in this thread but just saw the pic."

after doing some research it seems he is right. But my wipers work now. I also found on ebay another harness with the same colors as mine. I've owned the car for almost 20 years and this is the harness that it came with. I haven't messed with it.

You can see in the pic of my motor the red wires go to the resistor. But in the first wire harness pic they are clearly not red wires for the resistor. BUt he second one does have red wires. Both pics were found on ebay. THe wire harness sold by classic industries is more like the first one.

SO which is right?

I can only tell you what was originally on my 1970 Barracuda before I converted it over to variable speed. My original harness looks 100% exactly like the one on your car.
