Modify floorboard for seats??
« on: April 03, 2016 - 09:22:33 AM »
Anyone modify the floorboards to make seats fit better??  My seats will fit but I'm 6'3 and I'm alittle close to the headliner for my liking.....the inner part would be fine (towards the console as my seats have a up/down function)....the outer part is the issue....thanks

I'd try different seats before I'd cut up the floor boards.  :2cents:

If possible try to find lower profile seats.

Decide on a colour for that Challenger yet?

FWIW I'm 6'4 and have pretty good headroom.  The car has the stock seat frame (not 6 way) and the standard R/T seats with a console.

Im 6 3 and put some spacers on front two bolts between the seat and floorboard (standard seats).  Tilting the seat helped me.

After some no way Im gonna screw with the floorboard thinking.....

I decided to modify the bottom of my new seats by taking off factory brackets and doing some grinding managed to drop it over an inch...I tired Freds idea by adding some spacers in the rear which lifted the back of the seat up more level and gave it some more space... much better!  Oh I forgot to add they are seats out of an acura......they recline and are alot more comfortable than the factory ones for sure!!

Color yet??  You kill me....at this point I don't care is its hot pink with Barbie stickers!  I'm ready to get it on the road!!!!

I use BMW e46 convertible seats and I dropped the seat almost 2" lower with this mod.
