Power Windows and Door Locks
« on: April 29, 2016 - 07:32:53 PM »
I'm thinking of putting in in power windows and power door locks.  Anyone use the electric-life front windows?  The only thing available for the rear are the universal kits.  Any feedback to which kit is best?

For power window switches, I'm thinking of going with factory switches.  Does anyone know the placement on where to put the switches in the door and rear panels?  I want to keep the car authentic looking as possible even though I'm adding power.

Anyone who has put in door locks, any tips or pointers on placement of the motor or what shape to bend the connecting rod?  Thanks.

Panels are marked from the factory on the back side for P/W  switch location... Problem is on a Challenger the P/W switch is lower than the crank location so most guys adjust the switch location to cover the hole...

The rear windows probably are best suited for a ball drive style regulator adaptation..

A good set of OE switches will set you back $$$$

Thanks!  I looked behind the door panels and there are markings to put the OEM switches.  Yeah, they kinda low and not very ergonomic.  The switches are $$$$ but I'm trying to avoid putting those GM style switches in my Mopar! :p

Put them on relays and save the expensive switches from the motor loads.

How does this work?  Looks like one relay set for each motor.  Do you have a site or information sheet?  Thanks.

Don't have a site.

Yes, one relay set for each motor.   You unplug the switch to motor connection and plug my relays in series, run a power wire and relay grounds.   Very simple installation.
