Got everything installed.  Put the seals in with the "dust boots" facing towards the axle.  While I was under the car (on my back) I tightened up every nut, bolt, clamp that I could find, and greased the suspension.  Everything is working fine and all of the nasty noises are gone.  :ylsuper: :bananasmi

Bad news is I found that the speedometer cable is almost worn thru in one spot. :banghead:

Just verified with my wife.  It was the summer of 1978 the last time I did a bearing/seal job.  It was on my 1974 Duster.  Ended up having to replace the hub because it had spun a race . . . .

I am exploring speedo cable options.  Dave has never steered me wrong.  Have to determine if the speedometer connection is snap on or screw on. (1973 Cuda 340, Automatic transmission, Air Conditioning)  Might as well pull the radio while I'm at it.  Radio lights up....green light shows it is receiving reception, but no sound.  I think, also, the heater control has the wrong cable.....  I HATE DASH DIVING!!!!  I want to pull the entire dash, and although the pad has one very, very small crack, I would replace it too.  My biggest concern is that my friggin balls get smaller every day I'm alive.  I guess that should tell me something . . . . .

OH CRAP!  I just remembered the clock stopped working.

Time to pull the entire dash!

Wait and see.  When I do this my engine mechanic will tell me he has time to do the engine rebuild.......

I found that taking the seats out makes for some much needed room while dash-diving. If your going to do it might as well go all the way... If i remember correctly the speedo cable is screw on at the trans and clip on at the gauge. I pulled out the instrument cluster (and steering wheel)to get to it easier than underneath the dash.

Yes.  YearOne had it.  Got it for $32.00.  They had a Mother's Day 30% discount.

Yep!  Went ahead and bought new, white, pillar post moldings and some decals.  Saved almost $75.
