I'm looking into reserving a 1.5 day or a 2.5 day offshore Tuna trip on a Charter boat out of San Diego towards the end of July or early August.

It would be fun if anyone would like to come along if interested.
Leave on a Sunday night and back either a Tuesday or Wednesday.

We will be targeting Yellowfin, Bluefin, Yellowtail, Dorado, and Wahoo.
It's a blast if you've never done this before.

Couldn't agree more.  That's why I do it twice a year; 7-day and a 10-day.  Doing a 17-day in 2017!

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

How do get all the catch home?
Do you drive there?

It's an 8 hour drive for me.
For you it would be 15-20 hours I bet.

Yes, wife and/or one of my sons drive down.  It varies with traffic.  10-12 hours.  We stay at the Dolphin motel the night before the trip leaves. Cheap and clean.  We have our fish processed and then flown to SLC Cargo where I pick it up.  Most of the tuna we trade for cans so that eliminates a lot of the processing bill. Major rip off, but it doesn't cost anything.  We donate the YT to charity and have the Wahoo and Dorado processed.  A few years ago my son and I caught about 600 lbs of Blue Fin between the two of us on the 7-day trip and we had it all processed. Biggest processing and cargo bill I've ever had.  Won't do that again.   :smilielol:

This guy could've made a bunch of money on endorsements and advertising had he just put it on a certified scale.

The Million dollar Large Mouth Bass that weighs over 22.4 lbs is going to be the real catch.
