Which oil in 89-91 360?

Hi,

We're getting close to start-up of the rebuilt roller cam 360.

First, can anyone tell me which oil to use in this engine?

Second, should I use some break-in additive? The roller cam is new and I'm pretty sure the engine hasn't been started since the pistons and rings were changed either.

Third, do I need to use led-additive for this engine if I'm using 95-98 octane regular pump gas?

Brad Penn, Joe Gibbs type break in oil for the first 500 miles or so, then switch to a high zinc 10w-40 oil.  I like the Lucas Hot Rod oil http://lucasoil.com/products/hot-rod-high-performance/hot-rod-classic-car-10w-40-motor-oil.  Always use the highest octane fuel available to you.

Nor, worry too much about the zinc content in the oil, either. That's only a real concern in a flat tappet engine and not nearly so much in a roller engine as there's much less rolling friction. The heads should have all hardened valve seats and the guides would be good to go as well, so no lead additive required. You're at least 5 octane points above the commonly available gas in N America and if I could get that stuff, I'd run 11:1 compression at least. Enjoy!

Any good quality oil will work , the zinc problem is for the protection of flat tappet cams  using a roller yu are good to go  I would use a 10w 30 or 10 w 40 depending on engine clearances when it was built . SJ or SL  is the best oil fro flat tappets or add zinc , with the roller SN is OK
