I've never seen an add on to an E-body, we had a '74 Dodge P/U that was aftermarket & it didn't do to bad..nothing as good as the factory, cable actuated, didn't have the recirculating MAX-AIR feature & looked pretty hokey, bulky under the dash..leaked condensate water from day one.
In our area these were typically done by local business & not the dealer...no upgrades were made to the vehicle beyond what it took to be A/C. We had an '89 Astro Van with add on air that was pathetic.

I worked for Sears and JCPenney auto centers in Miami back in the day. We installed 10 to 15 underdash aftermarket units a day. If the console was in the way we just cut off the front of it.   :banghead:  All used the York compressor.  Because of the contore of the dash I don't recall ever doing an E body.              :rebel:

Hi Darcy! I have a few pictures of the one that came installed on my 71 Vert. It was originally a California car. It did ok, but I had to have an original one, so changed out the dash pad and the ac box along with all the OEM components. The after market unit fits under the dash and curves to the dash itself.
