Good set of spark plug wires
« on: May 30, 2016 - 10:33:54 AM »
Looking for a good set of street performance spark plug wires (i.e. 8mm) that are not too long but fit nice and don't look too out of place.  Anyone have any luck with finding a set?

I've been reading a lot about spark plug wires lately. There are definitely a lot of differing opinions on this. Seems to be that the cheapest wires that have low ohms are the MSD wires. But then there's a camp that says that resistance at low-voltage means nothing because  spark is created at high voltage.  Then there's another camp that says that spark plug wires don't really matter because the highest resistance is in the spark plug.  Then there's another camp that says that wires that cost less will break down and create high resistance quicker. I'm thinking about going with the MSDs because they seem to take all factors into consideration; cost, quality and low resistance.

you can buy a 25 ft role from MSD, and cut your own to length.
Also, for the drivers side, I run them behind the left side of carb,
and under headers, so you don't see them. (#1 goes under water pump)

Do the Firecore wires have 2 or 3 that stick up on the Distributor ? I don't know if the pics they show are generic or not.  Mine are all 90 degree and a couple really shouldn't be.
