This is not a huge show for sure.  Smaller town show.  But it's fun and people are super nice around here.

This is the largest, newest, most reputable hotel in the county.  It's in Salida on highway 50.

This is where I would stay.  I use these hot springs.  This location is  about 30 minutes from Salida.

This is another hot springs which is about 20 minutes from Salida.  I use these hot springs when the family comes in from out of town.  More tourist or family oriented.

Baymont just purchased and I think remodeled.  At least they remodeled the exterior.

Of course, you have to consider that I am surrounded by mountains and there are free places to camp out as well.  Some you can cars to camp spots.  Just sayin.

   Then going off to sleep in bed in my hotel room.   


As we get closer, I'll start asking who is serious about going and getting a hotel organized.  Josh, since you live there would you be up for hosting a BBQ if we all pitched in for beer and food on Friday or Saturday night?

Yeah I'll host. 

Sounds like fun.  We have several local breweries so beer is no problem.  I'll get Scanga meat (local beef) that is grass fed here in the high altitude.  Makes for great steaks.

Cars can be parked at my property.  I've got some room and things are safe around here.  never crime problems here in my town.   Now I didn't say I have a huge indoor garage.  Just parking.

Alright CO members, we are a couple of months away from the show on August 5-6 (more info here - http://www.angelofshavanocarshow.org/).  Salida is a little less than 3 hrs from Denver.  The festivities kick off with a party Friday night so I was thinking knocking off early and meeting up at C470 & 285 (Hampden) on Friday, Aug 5th around 2:00pm to caravan on down together. 

Josh, if you are still up for hosting a BBQ Friday night that would be a lot of fun.

The show is Saturday, August 6th from 8:00-3:00, you can register early on the website or day of the show.  Everything goes to the Chaffee County Search & Rescue.
