But I've heard that 10 tracks eveything you do to the enth degree. Maybe they all do. Any input from 10 users on how it compares to previous versions?

I have been told by lots of mac mavens that macs are better. I'm a computer guy, but I have a hell of a time figuring out how to ' get things done' with a mac. I own two of them, (and four windows machines and a linux) but they will be my last ones. I'll go with the cheaper and better windows OS. With my way of thinking, everything is more difficult on an Apple computer.
I would get a Windows 10 PC Murray. Windows 7 is already out of the supply line.

I hear that from many computer guys, I tought a lot of PC users to use a Mac, they are frustrated in the beginning because they are used to the complicated system. If you wanna get deep in to the system, and fiddle around with the ones and zeros, write code etc, get a PC. If youre on very limited budget, get a PC, if you wanna play games, get a PC, if you dont wanna mess around with stuff, just wanna get your work done, and not have the computer ask you a million and one questions, ....get a Mac. A Mac is easy to use, my 76 year old father who is the most non technical person on this planet, can use a Mac. And; There is NO VIRUSES for a Mac! Period! There is what they call "Malware" that some people think is a virus, but on a Mac you manually have to install and OK that to get your computer ruined, just don't install crap that you dont know where it came from. Its actually blocked in the system, you can not install that, unless you go in and turn off that protection. Mac OS is built on Unix, one of the most used and safest systems there is. I got my first PC in 1985, my first mac in 1991, I owned 40-50 of them over the years,I never had a virus on any Macs, (never used virus protection) an unprotected Windows machine has a virus after 15 minutes connected to the internet.

I resisted 10 as long as I could, then one day I had no choice, install or die.   :roflsmiley:  Well I went ahead, my puter went to crap. I was pissed, slower than a Pinto running on 2. Then, one day I opened up, and my puter is faster than it's ever been.   :dunno:  Beats me.

I'm not too computer savvy, so not sure if a refurbished processor be a good idea with initial start-up, getting on the net, adding some existing programs without any support? Also would a newer Dell be compatible with an older (2007) Dell flat screen monitor?

Wouldn't the monitor work with anything? It just puts up what it's told to doesn't it? Like a TV screen?

depending on when it was made and what input options it came with. 3 options for the most part: blue VGA (A), white DVI (B) and black HDMI (C). most older monitors will have A and usually B, newer ones are mostly B and C with most also still coming with A. The PC on the other hand will usually output to A or B, newer ones can have C. just make sure they both have the same option (mostly you are probably looking at A and A for your current monitor and that Dell that was referenced)

That's good to know, mine has blue cord ends so it would be an A (VGA)?

Well I'm sticking with 7 as long as I can cause I think 8 & 10 suck eggs.

MS should make their product better than try to play follow the leader. Lame.

I think you made a good choice. That gives you 3 1/2 years of supported "reliable" computing. Besides, in that time who knows what Gates will release, maybe Windows 10.1 to fix 10. Just FYI, the free download of Windows 10 ends this July 29th.
