I have seats with the correct 71 "late" style w push in chrome release button on side ,and back panels with built in hinge extensions...but there from a challenger...
would these be identical in every way to one used in a "late" 71 production 'cuda?

The seat frames and possible the foams would be correct, but the pattern of the vinyl is obviously different :2cents:

well their not in perfect shape by far... so I would be tearing them down,
blasting frames, painting , re-pad, and upholster them with the correct color and vinyl pattern.

ill snap a picture and post to see if they would be correct, maybe they are from a cuda and the owner was mistaking as they appear to have the same cross pattern on back rest....

so here is a picture of the driver side, pass is the same...just could not get to it right now for a picture.

please let me know what part is incorrect if I want to use in a cuda, as I was told they were from a challenger.
and just to verify, this button release style is the kind that will have the hinge cover built into rear cover right?

Yes those are absolutely correct for a late build 1971 Cuda. You can also see they don't have the "extra welt" discussed in your other seat cover thread.

best news I've heard in a while, 8) thanks a ton Anlauto!!

one more question just for my knowledge:

so the "earlier" 71 seat that uses a metal hinge cover,
the only difference from this "late 71" to that (early 71) would be
upholstery welting, the style of release button used ,metal hinge covers and back covers without hinge extensions...

so this seat could work as an early style too, by changing out the button, adding metal hinge covers, back cover without hinge extensions
, and upholstery w welting?

or are the buttons not interchangeable (since they appear to be built into the metal hinge cover on early version),
or are the latch mechanism different?

I've never personally tried that, but I'm willing to say it's a very good possibility, just a more expensive route because the metal hinge covers can be as much as $400 alone. :2cents:

all right, all great info, another question, should it have the small button on the cross or not? or is that a challenger thing only?
I find both versions...
