floppy 70 challenger convertible rear quart window
« on: June 18, 2016 - 09:17:28 PM »
My 70 challenger convertible rear quart window is loosely held into the aluminum mount, the piece where it sits in a rubber channel. I was trying to align the window to the roof but it tilts inward or outward too much   I cannot remove it without fear of breaking it. Is there an alternative to make it more solidly mounted in the channel?

I was able to remove the glass from the aluminum mount by lubing it and help from a thin putty knife.  I seems the glass was sitting in a "rubber" channel that got brittle.  Is ther a rubber gasket or was the "rubber" actually old urethane?

I'm not sure what its called but it is a thin rubber gasket the glass gets pushed into and that's what holds it in. I think its calls glass setting tape. Probably can get it at any auto glass shop.
