    Putting 70 Challenger r/t together. I bought hood emblems about 20 years ago when I went to put them on they only had two studs and there are 4 holes in hood ( 440 magnum ) and it looks small to me. 6 inches long and 1/2 letter height. P/n 2998802. I'm thinking these emblems are not the right ones for bulge hood. Thoughts ?

    Correct emblem, but too many holes in the hood. Should only have two per side :2cents:

    Mid 70's I put a 426 hemi emblem on hood. Hard to believe it had more studs.

    I believe it would only have had more studs if it were a factory shaker emblem.....however I'm not to sure on the Dodge emblems, more familiar with the Plymouth cars...

    Yes I believe you're right and I'm very wrong....Just looked at pictures of my 71 440+6 Challenger and it had three holes.

    Hemi & Sixpack had three posts which didn't match the spacing of the two holes so adding a three post emblem gets you four holes..... Which is where your are today......Break out the welder......

    I just pulled my Cuda 440-6 emblems off today an replaced with Cuda 440 emblems and both had 2 posts with identical spacing. Easy swap.

    Yea...that's where I went wrong....I'm a die hard Plymouth guy and was thinking of Cuda hood emblems not Challenger... :banghead:

    My guess is it's not covered by the emblem ?
    You could always use the much larger B Body 440 Magnum emblems :dunno:

     you could try cutting the studs as last resort if you can position it to cover all the holes and use double side tape. It won't be like exact as the factory but I wouldn't be comfertable using a welder next to fresh paint
