Wrong steering column?
« on: July 06, 2016 - 02:58:13 PM »
I bought a steering column, supposed to be for 71-74 e-body. Its a bit different from my 70 column, if I line up the mounting holes for the bracket, the part towards the steering wheel is shorter, and the part towards the steering box is longer. There's less difference if I line them up from the top down but then the bracket holes are not in the same place. Is this really an e-body column? The new one is the one with text written on it.

The top column in the picture is NOT an E Body column :2cents:

Can anyone tell what car/year this is actually for? I assume a 71 -up model according to the collapse part of the column. Some more pictures.

Quick reference is the fact that E Body NEVER have that mesh collapsible part, only B & A bodies.

:iagree:  The collapsible part on an E-body column is the crush can.
