E-body Heater Control Valve

What are my options for controlling heater temperature on an A/C Challenger without the A/C system installed? Originally came with a heater control valve but those are very expensive to replace and not too reliable. Do I need another heater control valve or can I do what non A/C cars do? I see just heater hoses from the engine to the firewall without any kind of external valve installed. How do non A/C cars control temperature?

Ac cars control the heat in the box because it is a dual purpose piece. Cannot have a heated core in the chamber during the cooling. Non ac car it doesn't matter. The heated core just sits in the chamber with all the vents closed when not bengage used. Probably still get some radiant heat but that's what it is.

Without a heater control valve and an A/C heater box, there will be no way to regulate the heated air temp from the heater box. Will be either full heat or no heat. Am I missing anything?

I guess the answer to that is yes.
The only temp adjustments on a non ac setup is air flow. Recirculating inside or opening for outside air.

I have looked at those 4 Seasons valves and I might give one a try. I'm a little concerned that the factory original valve recirculates water back to the water pump with the valve in the closed position. Do you think that is critical to recirculate water back to the pump?

Had same concerns because I blocked mine off entirely for other reasons. Was informed it is ok because 1) you still have the large bypass hose. And 2) that is what the ac systems do. So...

Hi guys, just saw your thread and thought I'd chime in and say, that I'd thought about your options you've  mentioned. I was going to just plug the ports out of the water pump to run and brake in the engine. But I hate going backwards on doing things twice. So I've  elected to install the Fourseason water valve, and run coolant into the heater box from the start . Here is what I need from one of you. The control cable location from the control panel to the valve. I received my car in pieces and don't know the routing of the cable, could you help :angelwings:
