Current Rev n nator and FBO system reviews
« on: June 25, 2015 - 02:43:35 AM »
When I do a search for the Revnnator, I get year old posts.
So Im asking those who are using the Rev n nator or FBO system for current reviews and real world use.
I noticed at the R/T Garage, the Rev n nator has been updated and matching coil is available.

So what say you on these systems?
Thanks for your help.

This is the second season I've had the Rev N Nator with an MSD Blaster 2 coil. It works great.
In search of the eternal buzz!

My second year also much better than the Mopar stuff. It has a noticeable HP gain.

I got one of their early pre-production units for testing. After a few months I stopped hearing from them. I've been running it for a few years now with absolutely no problems.

This is my second year with the Rev N ator. I purchased one early last year and had a problem with cold starts. It ran great once I got it started but starting it when cold was a pain. I returned it last winter and they send me one of the new versions to try before they started selling them. It's freakin awesome! My car starts first crank and runs like a scalded dog. I can't say enough good stuff about them. They made it right and even went way above and beyond. RT Garage is a great vendor with a great product that works as advertised!

I just installed the FBO HRR 688 and so far so good. It has a rev limiter built in.

Installed the new FBO unit and its like night and day.
The car runs strong and the carb seems to respond better too.

Much better than the orange box!

Finished the install of the Rev N Nator Saturday along with their recommended Accel distributor and MSD Blaster coil , may switch to the Rev N Nator coil I have.
After getting the ballast resistor wiring straightened out, the engine started immediately.
I switched from points.
So far, started great, almost immediately and feels a lot stronger. Took it around the block a couple times .
I also had installed a new original Carter carb , wanted to try the carb Mopar put on the 68 440 for a little while.
Will take a longer drive Sunday to see how she does, check timing, carb settings etc.

I recently did a Lean Burn conversion in my '78 Street Kit Car using the Rev-n-nator combo with ECU, Distributor and Coil.  I also installed a Weiand Action+ and Street Demon 600 carb.  Everything works like a champ.  I can't really comment on the performance difference as the original Lean Burn-Thermoquad combo was a dog, so anything would be an improvement!

I went from a Mopar Chrome box to revenator. No noticeable difference in performance or starting. I got it for the rev limiter so that works great. Set it to 6000 rpm on a 416 stroker 340. It has limited some 6000 rpm launches with no trouble.
