Care for matte black painted hood etc?

Well its done....the Dead Rat Flat Black is laid on my hood that I picked up from Carlisle 3 years ago and the scoop I finally got around to buying at the start if this summer.

Ended up having someone with a lot of paint experience lay the final color...I had tried and it was terrible.

Very happy with the results now!

So now the big concern is how to clean and care for it .....

Eastwood tells me to use "Rat Wax" products....the wash and the detail spray....but not to use the detail spray for 30 days....

BUT BUT BUT!!!!!  Carlisle is this weekend!  What do I do if a bird poops on it?  Bug splatters on it?   I NEED MY DETAIL SPRAY!   LOL

What do you guys do, for those who have matte paint on the hood?

I use this stuff on my AAR hood and all the matte black on my Cuda.  This was recommended to me by my friend who owns a body shop.

Thanks...finding that no one anywhere local says anything for matte.

Luckily I found that the realy super fine microfiber towels I have do good at removing fingerprints without messing up the surface....it was nerve wracking trying it but all seems well...LOL

Gonna just use water and those for now.....let the paint cure and then in the meantime order some of what you posted or rat wax I guess.

I use the wizards too.       Love their micro-towel and regular detail spray.  Been trying the spray wax also.
