ViperMan's new toy
« on: July 18, 2016 - 09:35:04 AM »
I realized while at Carlisle this past weekend that I didn't share news of my newest toy(s) here on the forum!

Now, I know it's not a Mopar, but for the moment, these are still substantially cheaper.  :)  So I'm getting to have some fun for cheap while I keep saving for that 'Cuda!

So here's my 2011 Yamaha Stryker!

Stats: 1300cc V-twin, SOHC, Liquid Cooled, Fuel Injected, 646lb dry-weight

I also picked up a 2001 Yamaha Virago 250cc as a "learner" bike until get a bit more comfy on a bike in general.  (You can see a smidge of it on the left of that last photo.)  I only got my license back in May, and have never ridden bikes before!  I'm having a blast though, and before I get a slew of "Oh you're gonna die!" posts, know that I've taken my riding course and I'm planning on several years of safe, event-free riding!!

It's nice that the paint matches your wife's car.

Nice bike bro! Biggist thing is to always try to be seen, and always be driving defensively. I've been riding for 20 yrs and I'm really starting to think about giving it up. I see too many people on their cell phones nowadays. Anyhow, there are few things as relaxing and to "clear the head" than jumping on the bike for a few hours. Enjoy and safe riding :2thumbs:

I second what Gus cuda said . Ride like your invisible and everyone is trying to run you down. I've been riding on the street for 38 years and in the city traffic its not fun anymore, I try to head out into the country and ride , take my chances dodging deer and cows. Only use your mirrors to see if a cop is behind you, look over your sholder with every lane change. I ride in the left part of the lane drivers can see you easier.

The area we're currently living in has a huge motorcycle population, and isn't really a large city - I've felt very safe riding around here.  I never plan to ride around our official hometown of Pittsburgh... :-)
