New 70 challenger owner
« on: July 29, 2016 - 10:02:22 PM »
Hello fellow challenger/cuda owners. Im new to the forum and glad to see there is a place online for these cars! It looks like its going to be a tough build since my project is a ways off , needs typical floors/ quarters, etc.

Welcome. it appears you like Camaros as well, I've had 14 of those lol, My kids call my car the "Cuda Camaro"

Lots of help here, I have learned a ton with just reading what others have seen and done on their cars. Good luck!

Word of advice....
It's going to cost you four times as much to restore a Challenger over a Camaro :2thumbs:

It's the price you have to pay to join the club :dogpile:

This is the truth! And parts are far more scarce to find also (hence the higher price)

But they are sooo pretty when done it's worth it.

Thank you for the welcoming. I figured it is going to cost quite a bit more than a camaro or mustang when I opened an e-body catalog. I just finished a restoration on a 69 camaro, while it wasn't cheap exactly ,I did it myself and over the course of 6 years to lessen the blow. So this one will take 24 years.lol no biggie.

I've always wanted a challenger ,charger or  Cuda so this is definitely exciting either way. I realize it will be pricey, it is not the worst cost wise. My brother has been restoring a 58 Plymouth belvedere ,  a "Christine" and phew!!! nearly everything has to be reused or custom made, no solid catalog or central source for parts. Very expensive but a very Cool car.

I'll post pics of the challenger when I get it back from media blasting.

welcome to the site!  im sure if you take your time and do it right you will be very happy with the results.  dont see old camaros or mustangs too much anymore, but its been years since ive seen a challenger out in the wild.  the effort is worth it!
