Steering coupler clip
« on: August 07, 2016 - 10:29:49 AM »
Having some trouble with my steer coupling on my 72 Cuda. I know there is a bit of an issue keeping the plate on the coupling, so I found a wire clip that holds it on. Has anyone found that the clip is too short? I have looked a pictures I see that the end of the wires go into the roll pin. I can't see any possible way it can, it is too short. Do I have the wrong one? I bought from Roseville Chrysler

I seem to recall there being 2 differ lengths of these.  Either way, they can be a bear to install

I have answered my own question. The clip is not too short, the coupler is too long. My coupler is 3 1/4". My research says it should be 3".  Why is another question. Also found out it doesnt have one oversized tooth to line up on gear box. that solves my crooked steering wheel problem. Now to figure out how to fix the mounting bolt for steering column under the dash that I broke off. :eek4:
