215 60 r15 on the front crazy idea????

I have a friend whose been a great help on helping me see my final vision for my 73 Cuda.  I have BFG radials in the back 275 60 R15 (Assuming its a 8 inch rim) and 255 60 R15 on the front (not sure of the rim size, assume its 8 inches too).  He thinks it looks dreadful to have that big of a tire on the front and I should drop down to a 205 60 R15 or at the most 215 60 R15.  I do see his point as it gives the car a different stance, kind of a hot rod look.  Does this sound wild?  There are a lot of options on the "tire rack" site when I search for a 215 60 R15 tire. 


I cant find photos anywhere with this combo.

What typically pairs well with a 275 60 R15 on the rear as I love that tire back there?  Ive been told it is easy to lower the front end, is this true?  My center front wheel well is 25.25 inches off the ground.

Im thinking the best idea is to go to a tire shop and put on a smaller used tire up front to see what I like.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

235/60 is a nice sized tire for the front.

Somewhere I have a picture of a 70 Challenger R/T with 295-50's on the back and 235-60's up front.  That's the perfect 15" combination on a Challenger IMO.  I must have the picture saved at home somewhere.  I couldn't find it on a google search.

I have 295 15's out back and either 201 or 215 (cant remember, might be on one of my threads in the wheel tire combo thread)

I have 205s on 15" x 7" Rallyes and hate how they look. As noted above I believe 235s are in my near future.

275/15s on custom 8.5s in the rear.

I have 275/60/15's on the rear and 245/60/15's on the front.

I think this is the best looking setup and drives well

I run 275 back and 235 front. Rides great and looks good, probably will go to 245 up front once they wear...stuff the largest tire in there that will fit!

If you like the look of the 215s then put them on. But you can go a lot bigger if you want.  I have 255s on the front.
