Cruising the Swedish way

On the 6th Aug, there was this big car show just outside of Stockholm. Arranged by Wheels, one of Sweden's biggest US car magazines. When the show ends, all drive into Stockholm for cruising.
The show had a lot of high end restorations but instead of posting show cars in rows, something different from the evening cruise.

Note that these boys and girls does not represent the average Swedish car enthusiast. The idea here is partying and having the ugliest, rustiest piece of junk...

A definition (for this group) found on the net for the Swedish word raggare:
A subculture in Sweden inspired by the whole 1950-60s American rock n' roll, hot rod, "greaser" concept.
Raggare mostly consist of young or middle aged rural "redneck" types clad in denim and leather, drink heavily, chase girls and are believed to be violent.

The violence might have been in the old days, today its just an impression. But they seem to have fun...

Calling that tail "raggare" you clearly insulting all "raggare" in Sweden, a "raggares" main interest is the car and to keep it in the best way and condition he can afford, these assholes jumping on there cars, kicking and giving them massage with a sledgehammer just to make them look as ugly they can, these guys main interest is beer and booze and they will fit better at rehab than at a carshow.

Note also that i said "does not represent...". So, this is a small group. And for their mental capability, anyone can judge that...

The definition "raggare" will never fit these people, they are just disturbing most of the real car guys, one positive reaction is the cops concentrate on them to ours benefit.

Regardless anyones opinion on this part of the hobby, this has always been around especially in Sweden. Wonder why? Our US brothers might have their say but I think this is a Swedish / Scandinavian thing.

I was there up to midnight and at that time most of the nice cars had left. The law was doing their thing and started to close down. But earlier that evening they where very liberal to burnouts, drunks, loud music etc.

Remember the old days when a pair of trush's and fat tires got you fined? Think it's better now.

It's better now, or was? Some parts of Sweden the police has started a new era of persecution against old cars, you may come directly from your annual inspection and yet the police will give you fines and order of a new inspection, this a behavior from the police because it's much safer to hunt down car guys then go in to the areas where we really have problems, I understand those covards who are born whitout balls.
