T/Anks Brad!!!   You've made my day!!!   I love watching the original vintage series TransAm events... I saw some as a young kid in the late 60s-70s.

Of special interest, I'm aware that the current active late-model SCCA TransAm (TA, TA1, TA2) and current Historic Vintage TransAm (TA, GT1, AS) racing groups are making plans to have their events combined on the same race weekends (~2017 season... if possible)... IF that can happen, it would be worth the trips to attend where ever/whenever they are held.

I've often attended the Road America Vintage Historic races (Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin) races... these races are awesome to watch, as well as tour through the pits and see the cars/drivers/owners.... vintage race car heaven!

I absolutely love it!!!  Mid Ohio is one hour from my house...my dad and my brother go up there every year to watch the vintage races....the number of cars seem to be dwindling but its still a good time!!

This coming weekend -- August 12-13, 2016 -- is the Mid-Ohio SCCA Pro-TransAm race event... main events held on Saturday.   Look at their wb-site and you'll see they already have around 30-40 cars registered in each of the two main races... ~60-70+ plus overall TransAm cars... these are not Vintage... they're all late-models.
