the convertible part is the same as the hardtop piece, just need to cut the top off... Great way to recycle one with a broken top area...

I believe the convertible ones are unique. Although the part number is the same on both hardtop and convertible, they will NOT interchange. The angle of the front windshield is different for hardtop and convertible. The screw hole on a hardtop piece is not in the same location as for a convertible piece.

If you can use the hardtop one, do it, just a little trimming, it would be hard to find a convertible one, not to mention the price.

Believe all you want, they are the same, windshield angle is the same... B body windshield angle is different E body isn't...

Hard-top trim piece is cut/trimmed for Conv.  That's how it was done at the factory.  There is a faint line on the backside of the HT trim piece indicating where to cut/trim. However, the '70 is unique in that it has a different screw hole location than the other years.  I used a non-'70 HT pair of "A" pillar trim pieces, cut them for my Conv, and drilled a new hole in the "A" pillar to attach the trim.

My 70 convertible Bcuda's RH pillar moulding is cracked right across the hole and completely severing the panel into two pieces.  Luckily I had a spare set of coupe mouldings.  They don't fit, the hole locations are different. Will a 70 coupe panel have the lower mount hole?

I have a pair of repop hard tops(not for sale) I was going to replace my damaged originals. Instead I experimented with fiberglass resin to repair my original broken piece. The repops are different where they meet the dash, the "larger finger" is the most different and the inside radius is off quit a  bit, heating them up with a heat gun may help "adjust the  large "finger"  The last picture is the burnt orange originals after painting black.

I've got a couple original sets - very nice ones.....  They are white, but painting/dyeing them is easy.
Send me an email at dwacek@comcast.net
