    Well, best wishes with your staying put...
    It was good while it lasted. We miss u already. lol

    My daughters high school basketball team travels up there every year for a tournament. Will try and see if something could be worked out for that. Will be around the end of year by holidays.

    Play for CIF state starts this Wednesday. If all goes as planned it may be waaay earlier.  :2thumbs:

    I'm bummed.
    I want my own man cave.

    Cost of living here is ridiculous.
    $750,000 just to even consider owning a house.
    I would need $400,000 down to line up a decent affordable mortgage.

    Wife thinks we can make it up here and she's determined.
    She will see the light eventually.

    Mike, I know what you mean. The Bay Area real estate is getting ridiculous. Not sure how the next generation is going to make it here. The only good news now is that mortgage interest rate is still low. I have coworkers that had to move out to Sacramento area and commute to East Bay to work. Four hours on the road every day!

    Glad you are staying for now. It is kind of hot down there toward inland away from the coast.

    Wow, Mike I had no idea the cost of living was so high in that area.  :22yikes: Too bad. I was rooting for ya!  :clapping: I live in Tidewater Virginia also referred to as Hampton Roads. One of the highest concentration of active duty and retired military in the US and along with military related technical companies and the largest shipyards and biggest naval base in the US. Cost of living isn't like California, but moderately high. The problem here is gridlock. One of the worst in the nation with being on the coast with the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries there are bridges and tunnels everywhere. I hate it and the tolls. There are always bridge lifts or breakdowns in the tunnels. A 30 minute drive can turn into 2 hours in a heartbeat & it happens almost daily. I am hoping to retire and get to the mountains away from the traffic and high crime rate. Mike I hope you find your "man cave" and new job! :woo:

    That is the main reason why she didn't want to leave here. The Temps there.

    She knows I don't do well in hot weather.
    I was melting from the heat when we went to Puerto Vallarta.

    I do understand your girl friends reluctance to the heat down here, although it is only for a few months out of the year.

    Holy Cow!

    Big news!

    My younger brother down at Miramar, S.D. has a small house down there.
    Recently he is going to be a Daddy in February.

    Because of that, his future fiance doesn't want to live there.
    So he has to move out to her house.

    My brother said he plans to rent it out and I would get first shot.
    Wife is ecstatic on us going down there.

    All I have now to do is get a job transfer.
    I'm hoping it all goes well or I'm going back into the job market if needed.

    We want out of the Bay Area...NOW!
