Anyways, we move on!!  I need help, and you will help me?  Yes you will!

I need parts, so I ordered them.

Problem #1; The starter does engage when you click it! YES!  But, engine doesn't turn over very much.  The starter was touching the manifold and grounding out?  Also, my ground wire heats up ALOT and smokes.  And I don't have the correct starter bolt?  My old starter was huge so I got a small high torque one. 

How you can help; is there a starting diagram I can look at?  What and where does the engine/battery ground to?  Where can I buy a good header/manifold for the 360?

One step at a time :)
(I fixed the aircleaner btw!)

Haha!  It felt like it anyways :)  I thought this thing would be on the road, but the sudden, 'can't work on it' kinda hurt :(

I know how you feel my father helped me drop my engine in , he passed, my step dad helped me put in the new windshield passed also. For a long while I did not want to work on the car because they had helped me so much on it. Still sometimes affected. I know how you feel. The older you get the more you lose Unless you got a ton of grandchildren to look forward too. I still have my father in law who has helped me a lot but he has had 2 very close calls ,..a widow maker heart attack and a cancer removed from his intestine.
does not hurt to take time away.

Not many Manual factory Cuda's.  Only 398 Manual Cudas were made in '74.  So, pretty rare?  I don't know, it's a cool car, just wish I could get it back on the road.

I ordered parts, just waiting.  The wiring is hack a licious but I hope I can sort it out, one wire at a time.

You may want to invest in A factory service manual. I got one for my car on CD, that way you can print off the page that is needed and not have to worry about protecting A book while your working. :2cents: :working:

I got it running!  More like, hook up the wires and get lucky!  It runs and idles but now I have a host of new problems.

1) Clutch fork is not connected to throw out bearing clips.  Does the fork just pull out??  How does it hook up?
2) Holley carb, but no way to attach the gas pedal wire (line) to the carb itself.  Do I need a bracket or something?
3) Where can I get a stock header/manifold?  :)  The old one was bent and it won't fit anymore without rubbing the starter.  I'd like an easy to fit header/manifold.

That's all for now.  Not bad for a newbie.

Do I need this bracket to mount the throttle cable to the carb?  I know I need;
20-7 throttle lever extension
20-36 throttle stud
2 springs

the two pieces clamp it tight. You can slide it a little to adjust.   Looks like you are missing the small piece.  I may have one. You could maybe bend a washer in a "c" shape and clamp it down with a nut.

My car doesn't have a water pump pulley.  It's a 360, 1974.  Which one do I get?  There is seems to be two, 5 1/4 and 6 1/2.

No wonder my belts didn't fit!  :) (I assumed the engine turned the fan belt through some clutch system, oops).
