What kind of tow vehicle do you have?  Need to consider all factors . . .  :grinyes:

GM 1500 4WD. I brought the car home from Wisconsin and took it to Carlisle with this truck on an open U-haul trailer. Pulled it easy. How much harder will an enclosed trailer pull?

Hmmm I was considering the same deal and my dad was even going to buy it for me before I lost him this year and I was talked out of it on this site due to the fact that my Ferd F150 platinum 4WD just was not enough truck for an enclosed 20 or 24 ft trailer.

Enclosed (especially flat nosed) can be much harder to pull with the horrible wind load on the front.  Vee nosed enclosed do a bit better, but both will be harder to pull then a flat bed.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Hmmm. Now you got me thinking. I'm not going to buy a new truck just for this. All the more reason I have to buy it cheap or leave it. Does anyone make a car hauler that's 4.5' high instead of 6.5'? I can bend a little to get in and out. It's not like I'll spend a lot of time in there and it would catch a lot less wind.

2-3500 lb axles, 3566 payload, electric drum brakes, ball hitch. 2007 model.

So looking at the payload you just stated it seems your car will already put it at or near its max payload.
Raised roof trailers are also much nicer than standard height, can't imagine wanting a lower profile. You need the investigate the tow rating of your truck as well. Current Ram 1500's properly equipped come with a max trailer weight of 10,100lbs. I also prefer a v nose as they tow nicer in windy conditions but you need to add a couple of feet because of the space you give up inside the trailer. I have a 28ft v nose and it works great.

Yes I need to scale the car. I expect there won't be much room to spare.

I would recommend a 24 ft trl with torsion suspension and a weight rating of 10,000. I have a v-nose and the only real benefit of it is you can use the extra space for a spare tire and such, which is significant.

Haulmark is a good brand. I had a 26' flat nose and I loved it. Was pulling it behind a Cummins though. Hooked up behind my '12 Ram Hemi was the first time I knew it was behind me. LOL. Before buying make sure the model is built to haul a car and the rear door is built for that. My understanding is that some were just cargo trailers and not necessarily built for hauling a car. Good luck

I've got a 24' wells cargo with torsion axles... It's so awesome and pulls well. I don't use it to tow the car around often it's used for other work but the space is great.

Theres a lot to think about with cargo trailers, take a look at what the axles are rated to and pay particular attention to the aluminum outside. The thin ones get wavy looking and aren't worth 2 ****s
