Challenger Trans Cooler Location
« on: August 31, 2016 - 05:55:29 PM »
Hey gang,

The car is stillllll running about 10 degrees warmer than I'd like (440 Six Pack, 9.7 to 1, stock build). I've gotten the timing dialed in, installed a new water pump with more blades, and that helped a TON. She was running about 230 degrees, now it's down in the 195-205 range. I have 26 inch stock radiator, with the trans cooler mounted to the front. Thinking if I moved the trans cooler to another location if A: it would help the temp when the car is moving, and B: It would create space for an electric fan when I'm in traffic.

SO my question is has anyone moved their trans cooler? If so, where? If so, did it help your temp?

Thanks!

195-205 is fine, what thermostat are you running?

I made some brackets and moved my trans cooler to the valence ,made a big difference, nothing blocking the radiator I am also running an oil cooler that really helps  :2cents:
