Are you using the stock style or the poly boots? I've heard the poly boots are a PITA to install. You can try putting the boots in boiling water. That should make them more pliable.

Are right and left spindle interchangable? I was thinking that if I mixed up the calipers, I may have switched the spindles. Is the caliper supposed to be on the front of the steering knuckle? Right now it's on the rear. I was thinking that is the reason the hose is kinked

Spindles are made to be left and right, not interchangeable (though you can install them on the wrong side). Calipers to the front. That is the reason your hose doesn't  fit right. My car was done incorrectly and thanks to the good people here at CC I got them flipped and all is right.

Yes and no. The factory designated specific part numbers for left and right, so to be factory correct they are designated to a specific side. However, the spindles are built symetrically and can be swapped side to side to change caliper orientation from front to rear. Different cars had them in different locations and other suspension items may have dictated original placement.

However, as explained earlier, swapping spindles side to side also requires re-orienting calipers so the bleeder faces up and may also create issues with hose and line routings. So it all depends on if you want it to be factory correct or not, if your retrofitting or just replacing. Both ways are functional.

Thanks for the info. I think I had the calipers on the right side but I got the spindles on the wrong side. Thats going to be my project this weekend.  I don't know what I would do without this forum and all the knowlegible people. Thanks again.

When I did the front end on my purple car I did one side at a time. I made the same mistake you have when I changed from drums to disks on my other car. I had the spindles switched. Then wondered why nothing was fitting right. That was before I had the internet to help. Glad we could help you get it right.
