I know exactly what you mean, but that applies to quality repro parts like the new seat belts and door panels for example. This body is no where near that caliber. If a company is going to repop something, do it right, especially if you are going to ask this kind of money. If you ask top dollar prices, the product better be top quality.

What we are forgetting about as this thread grows is that they do not have all the peices to build a complete car yet. So that means they are taking a base shell and updating it, in which case, there are any number of places that can also do that and provide a quality level that is probably more acceptable to those who want a complete, ready to paint, better than OEM quality unibody.

I'd also caution us against being too critical of something that was probably quickly put together in between other customer jobs just so they could complete it in time and drag it to SEMA. Has anyone stopped to point out the issues and ask them about the time line of construction they performed here or ask if this is how their "as delivered" product will be?

Yes, I agree that for $15k or $17k, or whatever it is, it should pretty much be at a point of final sand and ready for paint. But I also think that patching together a bunch of panels that require alignment on multiple points over an entire car takes more time than they probably devoted to this particular project. From what I've read, their Camaro bodies are selling pretty well.

I looked at the b bodies at this years nats and asked about a complete car like in the displays , The response i got was a complete car wouldn't be in the future cause it would be way to much work . I might  add when several parts with minor fit issues come together  things tend to multiply so the challenger would tend to mimic the Bs.

Yes I did, and yes they did.
We do need to rememeber that 2010 restored cars are far and above 1970 original standards. The time you spent in fit and finish restoring your car can be done for you on the reproductions if/when they are ever made, but no one will pay for it. It's the difference between the 20K local car show resto and the 80K national show wining caliber car.

I'll try to remember to call tomorrow. Next one I'm going to build isn't going to have a stock part on it so need to spend a bunch restoring an original body.
