I agree with 71cuda...  D-C by now knows better than to try to market the new "Charger" (blasphemy!  sacrilege!) to anybody who is old enough to have been around for the actual Chargers back in the day.  Their only option is to try and hook up with the rap generation, since the rest of us will run Deiter out of town on a rail for what he's done to our beloved nameplate by sticking it on a Mitsubishi Galant-looking 4-door, hemi or not.

And, don't forget, 50 Cent (hugely succesful rapper) demanded (and got, supposedly) one of the first new un-Chargers off the assembly line, so that he could "pimp" it with Dubs, a set of Eibachs, a coffee-can Borla exhaust, fifteen DVD screens and a Playstation in the steering wheel.  The 300's and Magnums are also hugely successful with the DUB set, as well.

I love the magazines that cater to these fools.  Pick up a copy of DUB sometime, it's worth it for laffs alone!

These guys will pay some "custom shop" to change out the wheels and tires, slap a new cat-back system on there, and then tell themselves that they have "done work" on their car!!  "Work" that a twelve-year-old could do with a pair of visegrips and a 1/2" socket.  "Work" that could be done while-u-wait at Pep Boys!

(I live in Los Angeles, so you can imagine the posers I see, scraping up their lowered "ridez" on the entrance to every gas station.)

But for a real display of fools being parted with their money, check out the TV show "Unique Whips".  This is an "American Chopper" style reality show about one of those "custom shops" in NY where NBA stars and rappers with way more money than brains pay some fool a fortune to swap out their wheels and exhaust, slap on cheap-ass window tint and fill the trunk with bass bins.  There was one PRICELESS episode where the only "fabricator" (and I DO use the term loosely) at the shop had just gotten his first MIG and was trying to figure out how to use it to put  "Lambo doors" on a Magnum!

Oh god, it was positively hilarious!  He almost set his face on fire!  The end result was a Magnum with doors that open vertically, like the cheesiest vehicle of all time, a Lamborghini.

The horror.  The horror.   :puke:

Well folks, thus is the sad reality in which we live- forced to put up with such rampant stupidity. Chalk it up to the liberal media... or something like that. ::)
