Water Pump Weep Hole With Pics

Hi Guys,

I installed my new water pump (FlowKooler) and I still have not figured out if this is the weep hole or not?  It's on the bottom of the pump and there are no other holes that would serve as the weep hole.  I just can't figure out why it would be threaded and so large.  I called the manufacture and they don't even know why.  I purchased it a couple of years ago.

I'd really like to find out before I install the engine and start it and have fluid possibly all over the place.

I can't tell from that picture but it doesn't look like threads.  It just looks like machining marks from a drill bit. 

Put the snout on the bench and fill the pump cavity with water.  See if anything leaks out that hole.

I took 2 more but now that the front of the engine is together it's hard to get a good view.

That has to be the weep hole.  Maybe some racing organizations require a pipe plug to be installed in there.  If it's going to leak, it will leak as soon as you fill the engine with water.  The engine won't have to be running.  Fill the engine with WATER for the first startup.  If you do have a problem, water is a lot easier to clean up then antifreeze.  Once you confirm that everything is sealed, then you can drain the water and fill with coolant.
