On the off chance that anyone had the same issue I did with losing transmission fluid after installing a reproduction 727 dipstick tube, I wanted to share my findings.
Right off the bat, the part seemed to fit "OK"...it was snug, and had to be turned pushed a bit for tab to line up where it needed to bolt. Next trip out in the car, I noticed that I had a puddle of trans fluid under the car. As it turned out, having to apply pressure to the tube to get it to line up to bolt in place, created a gap in the gasket, and consequently, it would just puke trans fluid out through that gap. Not a ton mind you, but enough to create a small puddle.
So the solution was quite simple, and obvious, but I wanted to share in case anyone had an unexplained leak after putting one of these in. I just separated the tab from the tube, set the tube in place so there was no pressure on the gasket, marked the correct location for the tab, welded it back on and rattle canned it semigloss black again. Not a drop since.
