The response to this inquiry seems reasonable... I also read that clearing the computer, not just the codes, may be necessary

Yes, once the solenoid is replaced the  computer has to be cleared or the codes will not go away. a standard handheld will not do it.   Did you have any of the offending codes?

The more and more I look into this the more it looks like the Solenoid.  Apparently there is a Shift Solenoid kit that comes with a couple of solenoids a trans filter and gasket.  How do I identify which trans the V6 has and does anyone know of such a kit?  Thanks

               My buddy @ the dealer said that's probably it, but of course only taking it to a dealer is the only way to know for sure   :stomp:   :banghead:

Drop the pan, if it's clean the chances are the solenoid pack will fix it... Debris... Well probably not...
