Washing these suckers only invites rust to start.
Btw, I use FinishKare #425 with a microfiber cloth - works a charm!

For those of you that don't wash your cars, do you rinse the engine bay out when detailing? I must admit that I've never really bothered with that but now that have a shiny new engine I think I need to start.

I just wipe it clean. I tried glass wipes the last time. Still looking for the right thing for under the hood.

Under the hood I still use Meguire's final inspection on the surfaces I can reach. Once or twice a year I will spay engine compartment with 409 and hose it clean with water and if I see a lot of oil film I will use Gunk engine cleaner. After washing I try to dry as much as possible what I can reach.

I must be a rebel... I wash my car throughly with soap & water... I don't believe in dragging dust particle across my paint.... And yes I dry everything very throughly too..
