Thanks for all the comments guys!   Wade I'll look into the leather paint! Thanks! I've been looking around on google on how to do it.

As far as making the brackets..... I just made them as low as I could as it's always an issue with e-body's . Any higher and your into the steering wheel. As far as length goes, I put the seat in with blocks of wood to figure out where I wanted it , then made a drawing of all the key measurements  then built it. These seats already have more adjustment than the stock e-body anyhow ( 7" I think it is?) The passenger side doesn't go back as far as the drivers side but who cares I never sit there anyhow!  :roflsmiley: I did try it out and it goes back far enough to be comfortable. Actually the limiting factor is it hits the seat belt retractor on the floor. The previous owner on my car installed a bunch of 1974 parts , seat belts being one of them.
On the drivers side I had to move the seat belt retractor back about 7" I made a new mount, drilled a new hole and bolted it in.  It's thicker/stronger than the original so I'm good with it.  Installed a bolt in the original hole to plug it up. I can easily bolt everything back to stock if desired at some point.
Seats were only $35 each so I bought 4 of them all black leather. With the thought of maybe I'll need parts someday or if funds permit I could get them redone to better match stock 1970 seats as I might change the back seat someday.

Very nice there Brad, how much lower did the seats sit than stock?

I'm getting somewhat tired of having my head in the headliner, but I'm sure it's not as bad as it's a 70's car.

The seat area is about the same as stock, but with these seats the bum part tilts as well as the back of the seat reclines so headroom is improved. I would say all e-body's are the same height regardless of the year?

I'm sorry I was comparing it to some newer cars I shoehorn into lately....

I am running ProCar seats in my 73 Challenger. Bought the pair from summit racing, plus adapter brackets. 329 each seat, 60-80 for a bracket. Best investment I could have made. I could sit in the car all day long! Those will definitely hold you in place!

"YOU" bought aftermarket seats? :poopoke:  Almost sounds like grounds for termination in your line of work!
I would have thought some "experimental" seats would have found there way into your car?  ;)

Sounds good though. Post up a picture or two! :2thumbs:

Hahaha! Funny. You know I tried. The current Challenger seats are just too big. Too many motors, brackets, and features. H-point would be way too tall, driving your knees right into the steering wheel. I looked at others, but nothing compared to the ProCars.

These are a set of Mazda Miata NB seats Im going to try out, bum to top of headrest is about an inch taller than Cuda E Body seats, floor to top of headrest is about the same, maybe slightly shorter but as Im a short ass and sit too low in my car this will give me lic to raise the seat and will not look like the seats are too high in the car, I also have a line on a set of 73 challenger bucket seats out here which I could build up the side bolster on the base and back to give me lots more support then have them recovered.

I got a great deal on a pair of Sparco Pro 2000 seats and just went for my first drive with it this past weekend.  Completely changed the feel of the car, I absolutely love it.  Haven't finalized my seat mounts as it's not in an optimal position.  I adapted the Sparco side mounts they sell to a stock slider.  Total weight for 1 Sparco seat and a pair of side mounts (1 for each side of a seat) is 24lbs.  I'm curious what a stock seat weighs with out sliders.... gonna have to check that out.
