Exhaust manifold and oil Psi question.
« on: June 30, 2005 - 08:35:44 AM »
First off..are all car manifolds the same for the bigblock will any car manifolds fit my Abod.  I can't seem to find some cheap headers for my 440 for the Abod.TTI wants 620 bucks....way out of my budget..also if all car manifolds are the same does anyone have a set they'd sell me?? I've got some Bbod Headers (don't know who made them) BUT the flange seems alittle warped so i don't know if you could cut that off and and make your own and t hen have a machine shop flaten it....

Oil pressure question...in my 92 dakota (318 Magnum) my oil pressure is reading 5psi hot at idle and about 40psi going dwn the road at about 1800rpm does that sound good?? its a rebuilt motor with new bearings and oil pump..i reused old lifters...my cousin said its good for having used old lifters....i don't hear any noises so it must be oiling up to the rockers and stuff...
74 Plymouth Duster- restoring

77 Dodge D150 shortbox- as long as i don't change my mind will be a step side dually diesel or a 383 powered truck

Sounds like you dakota is just a little loose, keep an eye on it, and run 20w50 in summer, and 10w40 in winter.
Are you running synthetic?

Big Block  A bodies had a different left manifold , nothing else fits a big block A body
TTi has the best header for it , the other options include the Hooker fender well headers for $700 & then you cannot steer the car , the only other option is the Schumaker Tri Y headers for $%00 or so which are a compromise at best
