Did my car come with turn signal lights "indicators" ?

I am restoring a 71 cuda. The fenders have the fender indicators on them. Not sure my car should have them or not from the factory. First off the indicators where the wrong year . Second , passenger side fender is the original fender , and it looks to me like it may have been drilled afterwards? Anyway, my question is what other options would have come with the car if the car came with the fender indicators? Is that considered a "light group"  I don't have a build sheet. just fender tag!! Thx

Fender mounted turn signals were part of the light group and we're not available by themselves. Usually the light group consisted of lights for the ash tray, ignition key, dash switch panel and glove box. You can check the library at Hamtramck-historical to see if the light group is listed in the dealer data book.

Look for A01 on your fender tag.

A01 Light Package has glove box lock, map/courtesy lamp, reading and dome lamp, glove box lamp, ash receiver lamp, cargo compartment lamp, trunk compartment lamp, hood/fender turn signal lites, rear door dome lamp switch, ignition switch lamp w/  timer, headlamp-on buzzer, headlamp switch lamp w/ timer.

A03 Deluxe Light Package has map/courtesy light, ignition switch lamp w/ timer, headlamp switch lamp w/ timer, fender turn signal lites, lock doors lamp, low fuel warning signal.

I don't think A01 is usually on the tag. Maybe it varies by year? My 73 has the light group but A01 isn't on the tag. Usually, the only codes that are found on the fender tag have to do with body mods. The code for the fender lights would be on the tag but not the code for the entire group.

If you have A01 in 1970 or 1971 it will be on the tag ALWAYS.

You will never find L31 or A03 on any E Body fender tag in 1970 or 1971

And A01 doesn't always include fender mounted T/S indicators...  Certain hood designs hide the indicators & if you can't see them from the drivers seat they were deleted...

They were deleted in 1970.  I don't know about 71 or 72.  With the redesign of the indicators in 73, they left them on even though you can't see the PS one over the hood bulge.

The original poster was asking about a 1971 Cuda, so that's what I was referring to.
The A01 package DID NOT give you fender top turn signals of a 1970-71 Challenger R/T. for instance

Great info guys! Glad I asked.
I checked my fender tag and  Like I thought , No A01. I don't have any of the other lights 73440 mentioned either. That's fine with me. Ill just weld the  holes closed!! save $150 on the new indicator lights!  Thank you guys for all your help!!!
