« on: October 29, 2016 - 05:37:20 PM »
Oil pressure start out good and has slowly been dropping from 40 to 25 to 15 and now 5 but as motor Roma increase the oil pressure will be at 40 at close to 5k Roma. Any idea?

what's Roma?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Engine rpm, typo or some text autofill bs. Double check these readings first with a mechanical oil pressure gauge, it could be gauge error...

I meant Rpms. And okay, I will. The gauge itself is pretty old so that maybe the problem.

 Don't trust the factory dash gauge here for diagnostics, use a good mechanical gauge. Good Luck!

You need 10psi per thousand rpm. I'm not sure if you're talking about idle oil pressure is 5 or what, but 5psi is low at idle, I like to have 15-20, and you need 50+ at 5K and if your engine revs higher you need more... If it was me I'd pull the engine and inspect.
