70-71 Challenger
« on: August 30, 2002 - 01:03:34 PM »
I dont know for sure if im ready to buy yet or not but I think im getting close.  Im looking for a 70 preferably, but a 71 would work.  Rust free, with clean straight body and decent interior.  Engine doesnt matter but it should at least run.  The only other must is it has to be a manual transmission, original, no conversions.  The trans doesnt have to be original, but it has to be originally a manual car.  Budget is pretty open, but id like to keep it under 10 grand.  Im not looking for an R/T or big block car.  I want a project, but something that is fairly clean to start with.

It does look like a great looking car.  It doesn't show it on the page I sent you, but in my search results page, it said this car was just listed today.   Has your dad seen it yet?

yeah i showed it to him.  he agreed its a great car and it probably would be good for us.  im agitated to no end right now, but he said he cant do it just quite yet again.  we went and looked at a house yesterday that theyve been considering for a few months now.  they are finally deciding whether or not to make an offer, so he says hes getting overwhelmed with other stuff.  understandable, but the challenger talk might have to be sidelined again for a few weeks.  im gonna keep searching though and i definitely appreciate you keeping your eyes open.  that is the right car....

I'm dying for you Ross.  Man, that one fit you to a tee!  Maybe it will still be available in a few weeks when your dad's ready??  Since it does have such a small engine, maybe people won't want to fork out that much money for it??  I'm trying to be optimistic...but it's gorgeous.  I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks Laura, really appreciate it.  dont want to get everyone fired up on my account cause its just really hard to say when something could happen for us.  theres just a lot going on right now, but i keep hoping.  yeah it is damn near perfect for us and yeah it is a good chunk for a 6 cylinder, so maybe it wont sell right away.

Hey Ross.  This one would be pretty cool too.  Of course I kind of partial to RT/SEs.

I just love looking at cars.  The orange interior is a bit much, but it's different!
