anyone have issues with motor mount bolts coming loose?
« on: November 25, 2016 - 11:20:45 AM »
On my 440 I have schumacher motor mounts and after the first 100 miles of driving, I noticed the passenger side motor mount bolt loosened up and backed out quite a bit. I originally did not have a torque strap on so not sure if this happened due to excessive vibration before I installed the strap. Regardless, it's snug now. Just curious if others have experienced the same.

Never heard of that happening.  I'd use some Loctite on the threads so it doesn't happen again.

You bring up a good point.  It's probably a good idea to go back over the car and recheck key fasteners after driving the car for a hundred miles or so.

I safety wired the mount-to-block bolts on the Hemi, I've certainly had issues in the past with that hardware. Mechanical locknuts, or safety wire in that area.
