1971 cuda alignment specs. for polyglas E60-15
« on: October 31, 2016 - 10:37:38 AM »
setting up suspension on a 71 340 cuda...looking for caster, camber and toe.
I know these numbers are susceptible to preference, but what is a good starting point/ AKA: factory stock, for alignment when using stock Goodyear polyglas E60-15 tires?

I believe, with those tires, stock numbers are as good as you are going to get.

x2.

If you change to radials, then you want to get more modern specs. Otherwise, stick with the OEM specs.

Stock
camber  0 to -.25
caster   +1
Toe   1/16th-1/8th

Even with the Polys I'd put more Caster into it....  Caster is a non-tire wearing angle so using more won't hurt anything but it will improve straight line stability & the return to center of the steering...

Camber is a tire wearing angle and the gains vs wear factor means keep it close to zero.. It you want to corner fast buy different tires...

Toe is a serious tire wearing angle & that spec doesn't change from granny's car through fairly hot corner carving... Race stuff will trade tire wear for quicker response...
