Newby here with a question. I'm putting a Gen III Hemi/6 speed Tremec in my wife's '70 Challenger. I got the motor mounts from TTI as you all had recommended. I measured multiple points on the car and snapped a chalkline on the floor dead center (lengthwise) of the car. The crank bolt is 2 7/8" offcenter to the passenger side, the tailshaft of the trans is 2'' off to the passenger side, but the rear is dead center. Is this normal? I'm thinking maybe it's offset to allow for the drivers weight? This is my first time putting a new engine/trans combo in any car, so I'd like it to be correct!
Any input would be appreciated.
