Anyone familiar with Vintage Air Kits
« on: November 17, 2016 - 07:58:20 PM »
Their sales guy is one of the least enthusiastic I have tried to work with through this car build and has resorted to just sending me hot-links to installation instructions to field my questions.

My install is a hodge-podge configuration. I have a non-A/C Barracuda that I am buying a factory A/C dash for [standard gauges], therefore my firewall does not have any A/C holes in it. I am trying to determine what Evaporator kit I need and what control panel kit I need. [they have different install instructions]

Does anyone know what the differences are in their w/Factory Air and w/o Factory Air evaporator kits? Same for the control panel kits.

I bought the kit for a non AC car.....I would assume the only difference as far as the evaporator is concerned would be the firewall plate that the hoses exit through :2cents: I tossed all that stuff and ran the hoses in the wheel well any how. The control panel is more based on rally dash or non rally dash
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

GoogysGotaCuda, my 'Cuda was not an original air car so I purchased the "non-air" kit. When I sent my dash pad to Just Dashes, I had them put the cut-outs for the a/c vents.

The difference between the two is the  vents (obviously) as the non air set up has a small rectangular panel that bolts to the bottom of the dash that houses three vents. As for the control panel, they should be the same.

When I changed to the air dash, I had to find a set of original  vents (which are not reproduced) then order a set of adapters from Vintage Air that fits their hoses to the OEM vents.

Hope this helps,
Cheers!
