Travel LA to Vegas
« on: December 27, 2016 - 07:28:47 PM »
Hi guys, hoping someone can help me out with some local knowledge.
My wife & I are Flying in to LA during April next year on a well earned vacation. On our travels we plan to stay in Vegas for a few days & would like to rent a current gen. Challenger for a one way trip, LA - Vegas. Can anyone recommend a reputable local hire car agency ?

For some reason (watches too much NCIS I think) my wife is excited about riding in a Challenger, strange, since she's seldom interested in cruising in my 'Cuda.  :dunno:

Also, any "Mopar must sees" in California worth looking at ?

Any advice appreciated.

Enterprise , Hertz and Avis. Call and see if any have one for you to reserve.

V6 challengers can be rented from Budget or Enterprise, you will need to make sure they have one in advance of your rental.  V8 can be rented from Hertz, again a pre reservation is advised.  My wife and I did the same thing a few years ago.....she loved it.  If you want an R/T 6.1 or 6.4 you will need to use a spasticity rental company.  there are plenty of them in the LA area,

Be advised that a friend of mine tried to do a one-way trip with Hertz recently and they wouldn't give him a car without a round-trip ticket from their location. He mentioned that there was no documentation on this stipulation and they waited to tell him after he arrived ready to pick-up.

A number of those agency offices are privately owned, so they don't want their cars to leave their location.  They may have some cars that are more fleet, but others are ones they want to keep with a round-trip rental.  Drop-off fees on a one-way rental can be staggering, so need to factor that in versus driving back to LA.

Damn, that looks interesting would've been nice to check it out, but sadly 23rd is our flight home from San Fran.

Priesty, I checked out a couple of the exotic/specialty car rental place near LA...all of them only rent locally, no one way trips.  So your best bet would be a national car rental company, as they allow on=way drop offs.

Thanks Vertman, will ditch the spasticity  :lol2: companies & focus on mainstream options.
