1973 Challenger
« on: September 06, 2016 - 05:33:19 PM »
G'day from Australia. i recently bought, on my brothers behalf, a 1973 Dodge Challenger, which was imported back in 2014.
It's a base model hard top, running a mild 318, 727 slapstick and a 489 83/4 rear. Colour has been changed, before export, from B5 Blue to White, with black out on the bonnet, along with Black side stripes, I also changed the American Racing A23 wheels for a set of Magnum 500's.
I recently came across this ad while researching these beasts on the web.
I'll try and post the link below, although I'm not too tech savvy, lol.

1973 Dodge Challenger numbers matching 70 71 72 74 No Reserve
Sale price: $5,000.00 make an offer
Last update: 05.11.2013
Sale type: Fixed price listing
Technical specifications, photos and description:
Color:   White
Mileage:   150,000
Engine:   318
Trim:   base
Interior Color:   Blue
Vehicle Title:   Clear

Vanishing point. Well with a 318. With no reserve. This is a 73 Challenger with a 318. I am the 3rd owner. The engine is a crate 318 and the guy I got it from said it only had around 10. 00 miles. I have put on about 2500 miles. The original engine is on a stand but complete. The original 727 trans is still in the car. However he didnt tell me wether it was rebuilt or not but shifts great.
The interior is in excelent condition but the plastic is a bit milky and the dash. rear tray and door handels have been recovered in carpet. I do have another set of door handels to go with it. The console door is missing but I bought one but cant find it. It will go with the car if I find it. The lower dash molding is broken as seen in the pics. It has a am fm cass radio. The drivers door opens from the inside hard and the mirror bezel is missing along with the plastic crank wheel.
The car has been painted white but was originally B5 blue. There is NO rust on this car. The paint looks good but need to be buffed. It has been sitting a while.  It is a New Mexico car. A/C worked but did not blow cold and the heater valve is bypassed as you can see in the pics. It has a Edelbrock 4 barrel carb intake and has headers. Runs great. It has an R/T hood and he said it was an option from the factory. The build sheet is still in the car.
Tires look almost new but due to the NM sun the sidewalls are cracking. I have lots of projects and need cash to finish them. I was going to clone this to a rallye but really did not want to do this to an original car so I bought a real rallye body. Now I am selling this one.
I will help with the transport company or you can pic it up in person. I also have this listed locally for 19k so reserve the right to cancel at any time. If you have questions please cal Michael

Thanks guys, having a great time checking out all the posts on here. Here's a photobucket album of the Challenger since I purchased it. Please enjoy
(fingers crossed this works, lol)

Gone through the album and sorted it all out, deleted some pics that weren't relevant. Hope you guys enjoy them.

Just checking out the link, pics are a bit all over the place. The pics of the all white body were from the original ad I found. The pics of the dash and interior with front bucket seats missing, are the latest pics, during a RHD conversion. We can have LHD cars over here in Australia, but seeing as I want to cruise in this as often as i can, I may as well be comfy.

Well, the Chally is all done, fitted a rear go wing, a pair of front chin spoilers and a black vinyl roof. I have also rectified the ugly rear indicators
that had to be fitted for registration here in Vic, Australia. They are now wired in with the reverse lights. I have updated the photobucket album
with these additions.

Well guys, just a bit of an update on BUGGSY. recently purchased a set of Year One 17" Magnums, 17"x 8" on the front with 235/45R17 Sumitomos, and 17"x 9" on the rear, with 275/40R17 Sumitomos. Perfect fit, no rubbing, there's plenty of clearance.

I've updated the album on photobucket if anyone wants to check it out.
