-70 Cuda Illumin8s
« on: October 08, 2012 - 10:30:03 AM »
Good morning all -

I finally got my hands on a complete housing for a -70 Cuda.  Please note that there is NO wire cutting for these to work as they function off the 1157 circuit.  I like the look.

Hi Bigblue73,

A little more detail on the whole set up would be apprciated.

The LED units will be the same as the others, however, I have to modify the outer diameter slightly to fit into the inner lens that I'll call the diffuser.  The '70's lens assembly is very complex with respect to the other years.  I was very shocked at the assembly.  The LED arrays will mount inside the lens without the use of hardware.  The thin stainless steel mounting tabs will compress between the two bosses the support the diffuser with the outer lens.  Simple and clean.  I will be providing the no-load flashers (2) with these as well.  Through conversations with folks that have purchased these, so automotive supply shops don't even carry the no-load (electronic) flasher relays for the 2-pin cars.  I'll fix that and supply them with the lights.  Price for these will be same at the 72-74 Cuda.

Thanks,  I don't now how I missed your other thread.  You are doing a great service to us Mopar guys.  As driving these cars with 40+ year old technlogy is scray some times.

The '70 units are a go!  I have the tabs laser cut and fit it killer.  Here a photo of the tabs and the inner lens.

Tony, I bought 2 sets of Challenger front turn signals from you several years ago. The ones that have the white ring and yellow center. I noticed 1 of the 4 does not turn on the yellows when I turn on the turn signal. The white's just blink off and on but the yellows are dead. Anything I should check on the board or can I get a reduced price replacement for just the board?
